MEET THE FARMER
My name is Jack, and I am the founder and owner/operator of Happy Hen Farms.
What originally started as a backyard chicken project in the spring of 2016 with 10 chicks, eventually snowballed into a "college savings project," which ultimately became what Happy Hen Farms is conceptualized as today...a local, premium free-range egg farm.
I am a fourth-generation Idaho native and farmer. One side of my family has been in the dairy industry for three generations, and I am the first generation to pursue poultry.
A pre-fabricated chicken coop at my school's auction when I was in 6th grade was what initially sparked my interest in chickens. While I never ended up getting that particular coop, I did end up building my first coop out of an old shipping crate, which was quickly outgrown!
Ever since 2016, Happy Hen Farms has grown slowly and responsibly, with the help of family and lots of loyal customers, of whom I will always be thankful for.
Ever since the fall of 2016 when I began selling a few extra dozen to friends, I knew that I wanted to become an egg producer. I have never had a second thought about it, and will continue putting the highest quality eggs on the table for the 100+ families and businesses that Happy Hen Farms supports for many years to come.
